Pomalidomide has been studied in a major study and combined with low-dose dexamethasone to be more effective in slowing progression of multiple myeloma than high-dose dexamethasone alone. Patients taking pomalidomide plus low-dose dexamethasone worsened after an average of 16 weeks. A further study included 559 multiple myeloma patients who received at least one treatment, including lenalidomide, and whose disease worsened during or after their last treatment. Patients treated with pomalidomide, bortezomib and low-dose dexamethasone lived an average of 11.2 months before their disease worsened.
