How to take Budesonide capsules

Budesonide (Budesonid) is an oral capsule that is usually taken once daily in the morning. Take budesonide at about the same time each day. Budesonide capsules should be taken at least one hour before meals. The recommended adult dose for the treatment of mildly to moderately active Crohn's disease involving the ileum and/or ascending colon is 9 mg once daily in the morning for 8 weeks. For recurrent episodes of active disease, a repeated 8-week course of treatment can be given. Once the patient's symptoms are controlled (CDAI<150), it is recommended to take 6 mg of budesonide capsules once a day to maintain clinical remission for 3 months. If symptom control is still maintained for 3 months, it is recommended to try to gradually reduce to complete stop.
