Are Ramucirumab and Ramucirumab the same?

Ramucirumab may also be called ramucirumab, which is the same drug. When used alone, ramucirumab can be used to treat a type of liver cancer called hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in people who have alpha-fetoprotein levels in their blood of at least 400 nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL) and have been treated with another chemotherapy drug called sorafenib. When used in combination with the drug erlotinib, it can treat certain types of EGFR mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that have spread to other parts of the body.

Ramucirumab can treat stomach cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, colorectal cancer when used in combination, as alone or with a chemotherapy drug called paclitaxel to treat certain types of stomach cancer, or cancer that is advanced or has spread to other parts of the body, where the stomach and esophagus (food pipe) meet; or with docetaxel with the chemotherapy drug FOLFIRI (irinotecan, leucovorin, and fluorouracil) to treat colorectal cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and worsened during or after certain other types of chemotherapy.

Ramosizumab is usually an injection preparation. The original drug has been on the market in China, but it has been on the market for a short time and has not been included in the medical insurance. The price of 100mg/10mL per box may be around RMB 5,000, and the price of 500mg/50mL per box may be around RMB 17,000. The price of the original Hong Kong version of 100mg/10mL may be around RMB 8,400 per box, and the price of 500mg/50mL per box may be around RMB 28,000 (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates), and their pharmaceutical ingredients are basically the same.
