The role and efficacy of Ripretinib

Ripretinib has been shown to be effective in slowing disease progression in patients with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) who have received at least three other drugs. It has good safety and controllable side effects. The most common side effects are fatigue, hair loss, nausea, muscle pain, constipation, diarrhea, rash and numbness on the palms and soles, weight loss and vomiting. The European Medicines Agency believes that its benefits outweigh the risks.

Repetinib was shown to be effective in treating gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) in a study involving 129 patients who had previously received or were intolerant to at least three other cancer drugs. The study showed that patients who received repetinib lived an average of 27.6 weeks without their disease worsening, compared with an average of 4.1 weeks for those who received a placebo (a dummy treatment).

The original drug of Ripetinib has been marketed in China and has been approved by the National Medical Insurance Bureau to enter the scope of Class B medical insurance, but it is limited to patients who meet the indications. The price of each box of 50mg*30 tablets may be around 30,000 yuan. The expensive price may increase the pressure on families with heavy financial burdens.
