How much does a box of Ripretinib cost?

Ripretinib is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of adult patients with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST) who have received three or more kinase inhibitors, includingimatinib. The approval is based on INVICTUS in patients with fourth-line and above-fourth-line GIST. Positive results from phase 3 study.

In theINVICTUS study, repetinib demonstrated a median progression-free survival (PFS) of 6.3 months (27.6 weeks), significantly reducing the risk of disease progression or death by 85%. For the key secondary endpoint of objective response rate (ORR) determined by blinded independent radiological review (BICR) using Modified Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST), repetitinib demonstrated an ORR of 9.4%. In the secondary endpoint of overall survival (OS), repetitinib also showed a clinically meaningful improvement over placebo, with a median OS of 15.1 months. The most common adverse reactions were alopecia, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, myalgia, diarrhea, decreased appetite, palmo-plantar paresthesia syndrome (PPES), and vomiting.

The original drug of Ripetinib has been marketed in China and has been approved by the National Medical Insurance Bureau to enter the scope of Class B medical insurance, but it is limited to patients who meet the indications. The price of each box of 50mg*30 tablets may be around 30,000 yuan. The expensive price may increase the pressure on families with heavy financial burdens.
