What are the effects of Pralsetinib capsules?

Pralsetinib (Pralsetinib) is a receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor, available for oral use in the form of immediate-release hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) hard capsules (containing 100 mg of the active ingredient pralsetinib). Platinib capsule is a targeted therapy drug. It is mainly used to treat cancers related to RET gene rearrangement. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the activity of RET kinase, thereby blocking the growth and spread of cancer cells.

Platinib has shown good efficacy in clinical trials. According to research data, Platinib has significant therapeutic effects on patients with thyroid cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and other rare cancer types. In the study, when 400 mg of platinib was taken once daily under fasting conditions, the steady-state geometric means of the maximum observed plasma concentration (Cmax) and the area under the concentration-time curve (AUC0-24h) were 2470 ng/mL and 36700h∙ng/mL respectively. Over the once-daily dose range of 60-600 mg (0.15 to 1.5 times the recommended dose), the Cmax and AUC of platinib increased inconsistently, with plasma concentrations reaching steady state after 3-5 days. After repeated oral administration once daily, the average accumulation rate is approximately 2 times.

It is understood that the original drug Platinib has been launched in China, but it has not yet entered the scope of medical insurance. The price of each box of 100mg*120 tablets may be around 60,000 yuan, which is expensive. The price of the European version of 100mg*60 capsules sold overseas may be around 40,000 yuan per box, and the price of the American version may be around 150,000 yuan per box (prices may fluctuate due to exchange rates).
