Does Pertuzumab need to be infused away from light?

Pertuzumab (Pertuzumab) is a sterile, clear to slightly opalescent, colorless to light brown injection for intravenous infusion, containing a preservative-free solution. Before use, store the vial in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F), protected from light. The instructions do not mention that this drug needs to be infused protected from light.

Pertuzumab is a prescription drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat HER2+ early-stage breast cancer or metastatic breast cancer (cancer that has spread to different parts of the body). It is a member of the HER2 inhibitor class of drugs. Pertuzumab also received another targeted therapy, trastuzumab, which also targets the HER2 receptor. Treatment should be initiated under the supervision and guidance of a physician experienced in the use of cancer medications and in a hospital setting with cardiac resuscitation equipment. The recommended first dose of pertuzumab is 840 mg taken once an hour. Subsequently, 420 mg is administered every three weeks, with each administration taking place over half an hour to an hour.

Pertuzumab is a strictly controlled drug. The original drug has been marketed in China and has entered the ranks of medical insurance, but it is only reimbursed for patients who meet the indications. The price of each box may be more than more than 5,000 yuan, and the price of the Hong Kong version may be more than 20,000 yuan (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates). The price of each box of the European version of Pertuzumab's original drug marketed overseas may be more than 10,000 yuan, and the price of each box of the Turkish version may be more than 6,000 yuan (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates). The ingredients of the domestic and foreign original drugs are basically the same, and there are currently no generic versions of Pertuzumab on the market.
