Three types of people should not take Orlistat (Orlistat)

Reduce the use of Orlistat (Orlistat) in the pediatric population, patients with renal impairment, and patients with hepatobiliary diseases. Because of the obligatory weight gain that occurs in maternal tissues during pregnancy, it is currently recommended that all pregnant women, including those who are already overweight or obese, gain a minimum weight without losing weight. No embryotoxicity or teratogenicity was observed in animals receiving orlistat at doses well above the recommended human doses.

5. Breastfeeding: Orlistat is poorly absorbed and a small amount of orlistat is detected in breast milk. Orlistat inhibits the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins; breastfeeding mothers should take a multivitamin supplement (containing fat-soluble vitamins). It is questionable whether the amount of orlistat absorbed by the infant would adversely affect the breastfed infant.

The original drug of Orlistat has been marketed in China, but it has not yet entered the scope of medical insurance. There are also domestically produced drugs developed by other pharmaceutical companies on the market. The price of each box may be around tens of RMB, which is cheap. The price of the Indian version of Orlistat listed overseas is 120mg*84 capsules per box, which may be around a few hundred yuan (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates). The ingredients of the two drugs are basically the same, but the manufacturers are different, and patients can choose by themselves.
