Nilotinib is a drug of several generations

Nilotinib, marketed globally by Novartis under the brand name Tasigna, is a drug used to treat chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) with Philadelphia chromosome. It can be used both in initial cases of chronic phase CML and in accelerated and chronic phase CML that are unresponsive to imatinib. It is an oral medication.

Nilotinib is a second-generation targeted drug classified as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). Tyrosine kinases are involved in many cellular functions, including cell communication, cell growth and cell division. Blocking these enzymes with tyrosine kinase inhibitors may help slow cancer growth in leukemias. Chemotherapy was once the main treatment for leukemia, but it is no longer commonly used. Other treatments such as TKI inhibitors are more effective. Chemotherapy may still be used if nilotinib is no longer effective or as part of a stem cell transplant. Nilotinib is available in 50, 150 or 200 mg capsules. Usually taken by mouth on an empty stomach, twice daily (every 12 hours). Do not eat anything for at least 2 hours before and for at least 1 hour after taking this medicine. Swallow the capsule whole with water.

The original drug Nilotinib is marketed in China under the name Nilotinib and is covered by medical insurance, but reimbursement is limited to patients who meet the indications.
