Is there an Indian generic version of Lurbinectedin?

Rubicatine belongs to a class of drugs called topoisomerase IIα inhibitors. It interferes with the DNA repair and replication of cancer cells by affecting the topological structure of DNA, ultimately leading to cancer cell death.

There are no officially marketed generic drugs of Rubicatin, only the original drug. Rubicardin has not yet been launched in China, so it is not included in medical insurance. Patients cannot purchase it domestically and need to purchase Rubicatin through overseas channels. There is only the original drug Rubicatin in foreign countries, and the price is relatively expensive. In comparison, the original drug in Singapore is slightly cheaper, priced at more than 30,000, and there are other American versions of the original drug, priced at more than 90,000.

The main indications for rubicatin include the treatment of recurrent small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and recurrent synovial sarcoma (Myxoid/round cell liposarcoma). These two types of cancer are typically more aggressive forms with relatively poor survival prospects for patients, necessitating new treatment options.

Rubicatine is an injection that is usually given to patients through an intravenous injection. Treatment needs to be carried out in a medical facility or hospital and managed and monitored by experienced medical staff. Rubicatin treatment plans are usually formulated by doctors based on the patient's specific conditions, including determination of dosage and treatment period. Treatment may need to be taken periodically until the disease is under control or no longer responds.

Rubicardin treatment may be accompanied by a series of side effects, including nausea, vomiting, fatigue, loss of appetite, headache, blood abnormalities (leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, etc.), heart problems, liver function abnormalities, etc. These side effects are usually manageable but require close monitoring and treatment.
