Indications for Mogamulizumab

Mogamulizumab (Mogamulizumab) is a monoclonal antibody drug used to treat specific types of lymphoma, mainly T cell lymphoma. Its indications mainly include peripheral T-cell lymphoma (Peripheral T-cell lymphoma, PTCL) and skin TCutaneous T-cell lymphoma (Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, CTCL). These indications are detailed below.

PeripheralT cell lymphoma (PTCL):

PTCLis a rare but aggressive type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that originates from T lymphocytes. It includes multiple subtypes, such as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and peripheral T-cell lymphoma, which are usually insensitive to traditional chemotherapy treatments. Moglizumab has been approved to treat adults with PTCL, particularly those who have not responded to one or more rounds of chemotherapy.

SkinT cell lymphoma (CTCL):

CTCLis a rare type of lymphoma that primarily affects the skin but may spread to other tissues and organs. Among them, the most common subtypes are Mycosis Fungoides and Sézary Syndrome. These diseases often present with skin rashes, itching, and other skin symptoms, but may also be insensitive to chemotherapy. Moglizumab has been approved to treat adults withCTCL patients, especially those who are ineffective or inapplicable to other treatments.

Moglizumab inhibits the abnormal proliferation and survival of T cells by targeting the CCR4 receptor, a receptor widely expressed in both lymphomas. Its mechanism of action includes not only direct effects on tumor cells, but also activation of the immune system, prompting immune cells to attack tumors.

However, moglizumab may also cause some adverse reactions, including skin reactions, infections, nausea, fatigue, etc. Therefore, when treating with moglizumab, doctors will carefully evaluate the patient's specific situation and develop the most appropriate treatment plan based on the patient's overall health and condition.
