What can you eat to relieve stomach pain after taking Niraparib?
Niraparib Trial Data In the pivotal trial of niraparib in advanced epithelial ovarian cancer, gastrointestinal events occurred frequently but were generally of low severity. In the NOVA trial, these events tended to occur early and decrease within the first 3 months. The incidence of nausea and vomiting decreased significantly between the first and second months of niraparib use. In NOVA, treatment modifications, including dose reductions and interruptions, occurred in less than 10% of patients.

It may be important for physicians to periodically monitor patients for the development of gastrointestinal adverse events that may be related to niraparib treatment to allow for early diagnosis and intervention. Label recommendations for nonhematologic toxicities should be followed for dose adjustments. Taking niraparib at night is a potential way to control nausea/vomiting. Prescribing clinicians may also wish to consider using an antiemetic such as metoclopramide, prochlorperazine, or promethazine 30 minutes before taking a PARP inhibitor, recommending eating 30-60 minutes before taking a PARP inhibitor to prevent vomiting, and/or prescribing a benzodiazepine, steroid, or other pharmacological intervention if necessary. Supportive care guidelines for antiemetic management may provide additional strategies. Dietary modification and avoidance of large meals, as well as prescription of proton pump inhibitor therapy, tricyclic antidepressants, or prokinetics may be used to manage indigestion.
The original drug of niraparib has been launched in China and is included in medical insurance, but it is only reimbursed for eligible patients. The price of a common specification of 100mg*30 pills per box may be more than 5,000 yuan. The original niraparib drug sold overseas is more expensive than domestically. There are also generic niraparib drugs produced in other countries. Their pharmaceutical ingredients are basically the same as those of the original niraparib drug sold domestically and abroad. The price of a box of 100mg*30 tablets produced by a Bangladeshi pharmaceutical factory may be more than 1,000 yuan (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates).
