Efficacy of Nivolumab

Nivolumab has been shown to benefit patients with certain advanced cancers (melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, renal cell carcinoma, malignant pleural mesothelioma, colon or rectal cancer, and certain types of stomach and esophageal cancer). Nivolumab is also effective in preventing cancer recurrence after surgery in patients with melanoma, esophageal cancer, cancer at the junction of the esophagus and stomach, and urothelial cancer.

Nivolumab works by helping the body's immune system slow down or prevent the spread of cancer cells. It is a monoclonal antibody. It has also been shown to be effective in treating non-small cell lung cancer before surgery, when the cancer produces PD-L1 and is at high risk of recurrence. Melanoma in adolescents is similar to the disease in adults, and nivolumab behaves similarly in adults and adolescents. Therefore, when used in adolescents to treat advanced melanoma or to prevent melanoma recurrence after surgery, nivolumab is expected to provide benefits similar to those seen in adults. Patients with urothelial carcinoma respond to nivolumab treatment after failure of other drugs. For patients with classic Hodgkin lymphoma, although the study involved only a small number of patients, high response rates were observed in patients in whom other treatments had failed and who had few other treatment options.

The generic drug Nivolumab is currently on the market in China, but it has not yet been included in medical insurance. The Turkish version of the nivolumab generic drug listed overseas may cost more than RMB 2,000 per box of 40mg/4ml (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates).
