What medicine is Tivozanib?

Tivozanib is a kinase inhibitor drug that contains the active ingredienttivozanib. After being marketed, it can be used to treat patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC; cancer that starts in the kidney). These patients have relapsed or have not responded to at least two other drugs. Tivozanib works by blocking the activity of abnormal proteins that are signals for cancer cells to multiply. Tivozanib is an oral capsule that is usually taken once daily for the first 21 days of a 28-day cycle, with or without food. This cycle may be repeated as recommended by your doctor.
