What are the side effects of Tivozanib?

In clinical studies of advanced renal cancer that has relapsed or been refractory after two or more systemic therapies, the most common (≥20%) adverse reactions of Tivozanib were fatigue, hypertension, diarrhea, decreased appetite, nausea, dysphonia, hypothyroidism, cough, and stomatitis, and the most common grade 3 or 4 laboratory abnormalities (≥5%) were decreased sodium, increased lipase, and decreased phosphate. Clinically relevant adverse reactions occurred in <15%, including proteinuria, venous thromboembolism, arterial thromboembolism, hyperthyroidism, hepatobiliary disease, osteonecrosis, heart failure, and delirium.

In the trial, 24% of patients had a dose reduction due to tivozanib's adverse reactions, including fatigue, diarrhea, and decreased appetite; 48% of patients had their dose interrupted due to tivozanib's adverse reactions, including fatigue, hypertension, decreased appetite, and nausea; 21% of patients permanently discontinued tivozanib due to adverse reactions, including hepatobiliary disease, fatigue, and pneumonia. Serious adverse reactions occurred in 45% of patients treated with tivozanib, including bleeding, venous thromboembolism, arterial thromboembolism, acute kidney injury, and hepatobiliary disease; fatal adverse reactions occurred in 8% of patients treated with tivozanib, including pneumonia, hepatobiliary disease, respiratory failure, myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular accident, and subdural hematoma.

The original drug Tivozanib has not yet been marketed in the country, so it has not been included in medical insurance.
