How much does a bottle of Tazemetostat cost?
Tazemetostat is a methyltransferase inhibitor indicated for the treatment of adult and pediatric patients 16 years of age and older with metastatic or locally advanced epithelioid sarcoma who are not eligible for complete resection. It is also indicated for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma whose tumors are positive for the EZH2 mutation in an FDA-approved test and who have received at least 2 prior systemic therapies; tazerestat may also be used for treatment if there are no satisfactory alternative treatment options.
These indications for tazetostat are approved under accelerated approval based on overall response rate and duration of response. Continued approval for these indications may be dependent on verification and characterization of clinical benefit in confirmatory trials. The most common side effects are pain, fatigue, nausea, decreased appetite, vomiting, and constipation. People taking tazerestat are at increased risk of secondary malignancies including: T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (a blood cancer that affects the lymphatic system and is usually found in the lymph nodes), myelodysplastic syndrome (a disease caused by poor formation or dysfunction of blood cells), and acute myeloid leukemia (a cancer of the blood and bone marrow).
The original drug of tazerestat is not yet available in the domestic market and is therefore not included in medical insurance. Tazerestat US version of the original drug, specification200mg*240 tablets, which is marketed overseas, may cost around 200,000 yuan per bottle (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates), which is very expensive. At present, there are no generic drugs of tazerestat produced and launched. For more drug information and specific prices, please consult the medical consultant of the drug.
