Is taking one bottle of Tazemetostat effective?
Tazemetostat is a prescription drug and must be used according to your doctor's instructions and dosage. The safety and effectiveness of drugs are evaluated and determined in clinical trials, and there is no evidence that using them in larger amounts or above recommended doses increases the effectiveness of the treatment. The best therapeutic effect can only be achieved when tazerestat is used under the supervision of a physician and at the correct dosage and duration according to the patient's specific situation and needs. Do not adjust your medication dosage or stop using it at any time unless directed by your doctor.
Tazerestat is used to treat advanced epithelioid sarcoma, a rare, slow-growing soft tissue cancer. Treatment with tazerestat is used when the cancer has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic) or cannot be removed with surgery. As an oral drug, tazemetostat has a bioavailability of 33%. It undergoes hepatic metabolism through CYP3A to form its two major inactive metabolites, M5 (EPZ-6930) and M3 (EPZ006931), while M5 is further metabolized by CYP3A. This explains the drug interactions with tametostat. Tazerestat has a mean terminal half-life of 3.1 hours and is excreted mainly through feces (79%) and urine.
The original drug of tazerestat is not yet available in the domestic market and is therefore not included in medical insurance. Tazerestat US version of the original drug, specification200mg*240 tablets, which is marketed overseas, may cost around 200,000 yuan per bottle (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates), which is very expensive. At present, there are no generic drugs of tazerestat produced and launched. For more drug information and specific prices, please consult the medical consultant of the drug.
