Sacituzumab govitecan was compared with standard treatment in a major study involving 529 patients with metastatic or locally advanced triple-negative breast cancer who had received two or more systemic (systemic) treatments, at least one of which was for advanced disease. Patients who took gosatuzumab lived an average of 4.8 months without disease progression, compared with an average of 1.7 months for those who received standard therapy. Another major study compared gosatuzumab to one of four commonly used chemotherapy regimens chosen by physicians in543 patients with HR-positive HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer who had previously received endocrine-based therapy and at least two systemic chemotherapy regimens. Patients who received gosatuzumab lived an average of 5.5 months before their disease worsened, while those who received another treatment lived an average of 4.0 months.
