What is Relugolix?
Relugolix is a prescription drug used to treat advanced prostate cancer (cancer that begins in the prostate [male reproductive gland]) in adult men. Repagliflozinbelongs to a class of drugs called gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor antagonists. The ingredient in Relugolix works by reducing the amount of testosterone (a male hormone) your body produces, which may slow or stop the spread of prostate cancer cells that need testosterone to grow.
Regaglic is for men only; this drug is not intended to be used alone in women, but it may be used in combination with other medicines for other purposes. If the patient is a male and his female partner is able to become pregnant, the patient should use effective contraception during treatment and for 2 weeks after the last dose. Regolic may harm a fetus. People who have or have had longQT syndrome (a rare heart problem that can cause irregular heartbeats, fainting, or sudden death), blood electrolyte imbalances, heart failure, diabetes, high triglycerides (fatty substances in the blood), anemia, or liver problems should inform their doctor promptly.
The original drug of Regogliflox has not yet been launched in the country, so it is not covered by medical insurance. There are European and Japanese versions of the original drug Rleglik available overseas. The ingredients of the two are basically the same. The price of the European version of 120mg*30 tablets per box may be around RMB 4,000, and the price of the Japanese version of 40mg*100 tablets per box may be around RMB 4,000 (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates). Currently, there are no generic versions of Repagliflox produced and put on the market.
