How much does a box of Relugolix cost?

Relugolix is a drug used to treat adult patients with advanced prostate cancer, a gland in the male reproductive system, when the cancer is "hormone sensitive," meaning it responds to treatments that lower levels of testosterone, the male sex hormone. The testicles produce testosterone, which causes prostate cancer cells to grow. RelugolixContains active substancesrelugolix works by blocking a step in the signaling process that signals the testicles to produce testosterone. This step involves the brain releasing a hormone called gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH).

By blocking the effects of GnRH, Regalix reduces the amount of testosterone in the body and slows the growth of prostate cancer cells. A major study involving 934 men with advanced hormone-sensitive prostate cancer showed that repagliflozin was effective in reducing testosterone levels to levels seen in men who had had their testicles surgically removed. In the first year, 97% of patients who received Repagliflozin experienced a decrease in testosterone levels, compared with 89% of patients who received Lupron, another drug used to treat prostate cancer. These results suggest thatrepagliflozin is as effective as leuprolide.

The original drug of Regogliflox has not yet been launched in the country, so it is not covered by medical insurance. There are European and Japanese versions of the original drug Rleglik available overseas. The ingredients of the two are basically the same. The price of the European version of 120mg*30 tablets per box may be around RMB 4,000, and the price of the Japanese version of 40mg*100 tablets per box may be around RMB 4,000 (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates). Currently, there are no generic versions of Repagliflox produced and put on the market.
