Which drug is better, Relugolix or Gliclazide?
Relugolix and Gliclazide (Gliclazide) are two completely different drugs used for different treatment purposes and generally cannot be compared directly. The choice of which drug to use should be based on the patient's specific disease, doctor's recommendations, and personal circumstances.
Regolic is a small molecule, non-peptide gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist, which blocks the stimulation of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) produced by the pituitary gland by GnRH, thereby reducing the synthesis of testosterone in the male testicles and the synthesis of estrogen in the female ovary. Regaglic has been found to have a palliative effect in advanced prostate cancer and is as effective as parenterally administered GnRH peptide analogs such as leuprolide and degarelix.
Gliclazide is an oral hypoglycemic drug used to treat non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM). It is considered a first-generation sulfonylurea drug because of the presence of a proton-releasing sulfonamide group and an aromatic group in its structure. Gliclazide is a sulfonylurea insulin secretagogue that stimulates beta cells of the pancreas to release insulin. Sulfonylureas increase basal insulin secretion and meal-stimulated insulin release.
The original drug of Regogliflox has not yet been launched in the country, so it is not covered by medical insurance. There are European and Japanese versions of the original drug Rleglik available overseas. The ingredients of the two are basically the same. The price of the European version of 120mg*30 tablets per box may be around RMB 4,000, and the price of the Japanese version of 40mg*100 tablets per box may be around RMB 4,000 (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates). Currently, there are no generic versions of Repagliflox produced and put on the market.
