What are the side effects of Lisocabtagene maraleucel?
Lisocabtagene maraleucel, trade nameBreyanzi, is a cell-based gene therapy used to treat large B-cell lymphoma. Lisokabutanil, a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell (CAR-T) therapy, is the third gene therapy approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for certain types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, including diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). It was approved for medical use in the United States in February 2021.
The most common side effects of lisocabbutanol (which may affect more than 1 in 10 people) include neutropenia (a decrease in neutrophils, a type of infection-fighting white blood cell), anemia (a decrease in red blood cells) or thrombocytopenia (a decrease in platelets, a component that helps blood clot), and cytokine release syndrome (a potentially life-threatening condition that can cause fever, vomiting, shortness of breath, pain, and low blood pressure). More than one in 10 patients who received two or more systemic treatments also experienced fatigue. A very common serious side effect is cytokine release syndrome.
Common serious side effects in patients who had previously received a single course of treatment included neutropenia, anemia and thrombocytopenia, neutropenia with fever, fever, infection, aphasia (problems with the use of language), headache, confusion, pulmonary embolism (blood clots in blood vessels in the lungs), upper gastrointestinal bleeding and tremors. Common serious side effects in patients who have received two or more systemic therapies include low levels of neutrophils, red blood cells, or platelets, and low neutrophil levels associated with fever, fever, infection, encephalopathy (brain disease caused by infection), aphasia, confusion, tremors, or hypotension.
Since Lisocaptagen has been on the market for a short time, there may be less information on its price and other related information.
