What is the target of Pemigatinib tablets?
Pemigatinib (Pemigatinib) is an oral, small molecule fibroblast growth factor (FGF) receptor1, 2, and 3 inhibitor. Pemetinib is used to treat advanced or metastatic cancers that contain amplifications, translocations, fusions, or other activating point mutations in the FGF receptor. Cholangiocarcinomas often contain mutations in FGF receptor 2, causing the receptor to be activated and promote uncontrolled growth and tumorigenesis.

Inhibition of the mutated receptor leads to degradation of cell proliferation and promotes cell death, an effect that can be shown in cell culture and in animal models using cancer cells with activating mutations in the FGF receptor. Pemetinib received accelerated approval for use in the United States in 2020 after a trial of it in patients with refractory advanced cholangiocarcinoma showed moderate and durable clinical responses. Current indications are limited to adults with previously treated, unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma and medullary or lymphoid tumors with FGF receptor gene fusions and other rearrangements.
The original drug Pemetinib has been launched in China. Due to its short time on the market, it has not yet entered the scope of medical insurance. The price of each box of 9mg*14 tablets may be around 50,000 yuan, which is expensive. The original drug Pemetinib currently on the market overseas, with a specification of 13.5mg*14 tablets, may cost around RMB 70,000 per box (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates). There are also generic pemetinib drugs produced in other countries overseas, and their drug ingredients are basically the same as those of the original drugs sold abroad. For example, the price of 4.5mg*14 tablets per box produced by a Laos pharmaceutical factory may be around 1,000 yuan (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates).
