What will happen if you miss one dose of Crizotinib?
Crizotinib is an oral capsule indicated for the treatment of metastatic non-small cell lung cancer in which the tumor has been confirmed to be anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), or ROS1-positive. It is usually taken twice daily with or without food. Take crizotinib at approximately the same time each day. Patients take crizotinib exactly as directed and do not take more or less than prescribed by your doctor.
Doctors will advise patients to swallow capsules whole and not to cut, chew, or crush them, and not to touch broken or crushed capsules. Missing a dose of crizotinib will generally not have significant effects, but it is recommended to take the medicine according to the doctor's recommendations to maintain the stability of the treatment effect. If a dose of crizotinib capsules or granules is missed, make up the dose unless the next dose is due within 6 hours. If you experience vomiting after taking a dose of crizotinib capsules or granules, do not take another dose and take the next dose at the prescribed time.
The original drug Crizotinib has been launched in China and is covered by medical insurance, but it is only reimbursed for patients who meet the indications. The price per box may be around RMB 15,000. The price of the original Turkish version of Crizotinib sold overseas may be more than RMB 10,000 per box (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates), which is expensive. There are also cheaper generic crizotinib drugs available overseas. The ingredients are basically similar to those of the original drugs sold domestically and abroad. For example, the price of 250mg*60 tablets produced by a Bangladesh pharmaceutical factory may be more than 2,000 yuan per box (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates).
