Who can use trametinib?

Trametinib (Trametinib) is an inhibitor of some mutated BRAF kinases, including BRAF V600E and V600K mutations. Trametinib is indicated as a single agent BRAF inhibitor for the treatment of treatment-naïve patients with unresectable or metastatic melanoma with BRAF V600E or V600K mutations.

Trametinib may also be used in combination with dabrafenib, such as (1) for the treatment and adjuvant treatment of patients with unresectable or metastatic melanoma with BRAF V600E or V600K mutations detected by a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved test, as well as lymph node involvement after complete resection; (2) or for the treatment of patients with BRAF V600E-mutated metastatic cancer (NSCLC); (3) or for the treatment of BRAF Treatment of patients with V600E-mutated locally advanced or metastatic anaplastic cancer (ATC) for whom there are no satisfactory locoregional treatment options; (4) adult and pediatric patients 6 years and older with BRAF V600E-mutated unresectable or metastatic solid tumors that have progressed after prior therapy and for whom there are no satisfactory alternative treatment options; (5) or pediatric patients 1 year and older with BRAF V600E-mutated low-grade glioma (LGG) requiring systemic therapy.

The original drug of Trametinib has been launched in China and is included in the scope of medical insurance, but it may only be available to patients who meet the indications. The price of 2 mg*30 tablets is more than RMB 10,000. The original drug of Trametinib sold overseas, with the price of 2 mg*30 tablets, is more than RMB 7,000 (the price may fluctuate due to exchange rates). There are also generic trametinib drugs produced in other countries overseas, and their drug ingredients are basically the same as those of the original drugs sold domestically and abroad.
