Is gilteritinib a targeted drug? What are the side effects?
Gilteritinib is a targeted anti-cancer drug. Gilteritinib is used to treat a certain type of acute myeloid leukemia(AML) that worsens or relapses after treatment with other chemotherapy drugs.

Gi Ruitinib is mainly metabolized in vitro byCYP3A4. Under steady state, the main metabolites in the human body include M17 (formed through N-dealkylation and oxidation), M16andM10 (are all formed through N-dealkylation), none of these 3 metabolites exceeds 10% of the total maternal exposure.
If you have symptoms such as hives, trouble breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, contact emergency medical care immediately. Giritinibcan cause a condition called differentiation syndrome, which affects blood cells and can be fatal if left untreated. This can happen anywhere from 2 days to 3 months after you start taking giritinib. Seek medical help immediately if necessary. Symptoms of differentiation syndrome include fever, cough, difficulty breathing; bone pain; rapid weight gain or swelling of the arms, legs, armpits, groin, or neck. GIRItinib may cause serious side effects.
