Satralizumab (Satralizumab) is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor. IL-6, a signaling protein produced by immune cells in the body, is thought to play a key role in inflammation in patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), leading to unpredictable and severe relapses. Satelizumab was designed by Chugai using novel antibody circulation technology that extends antibody circulation duration and maximizes inhibition of IL-6 signaling while minimizing safety risks in the chronic disease setting.

Satlizumab has been approved in more than 60 countries including China, the United States, Japan, Canada, Switzerland and the European Union. Satclizumab is the first and only subcutaneous NMOSD for adults and adolescents who are anti-aquaporin-4 (AQ P4) antibody-positive, and can be used as monotherapy or in combination with immunosuppressants. In the United States, it is the first and only FDA-approved drug for adults with anti-aquaporin-4 (AQ P4) antibody-positive NMOSD that can be administered subcutaneously.

Satlizumab, which is marketed in China, is sold under the brand name Anshiping and is covered by medical insurance. Only patients who meet the indications can be reimbursed. The specification is 120mg (1ml). The price of each box may be more than 10,000 yuan, which is still relatively expensive. Domestic hospitals may sell this drug, but patients must obtain it with a doctor's prescription. The price of each box of Satclizumab's original drug sold overseas is more than 10,000 US dollars (the price may fluctuate due to the exchange rate).
