Seleniso Drug Encyclopedia
Selinexor (Selinexor) is a nuclear protein transport inhibitor and belongs to an emerging class of anticancer drugs. Its main treatment targets include refractory or relapsed multiple myeloma (Multiple Myeloma, MM). Nuclear proteins are key intracellular components responsible for transporting and regulating the distribution of proteins between the nucleus and cytoplasm. Seleniso's unique mechanism affects the normal distribution of key proteins in cells by inhibiting the transport process of nuclear proteins, thereby blocking the growth and proliferation of malignant cells.

Specifically, selinesol, as a nuclear protein XPO1 (Exportin 1) inhibitor, binds to XPO1 to form a complex, preventing XPO1 from transporting specific proteins from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. In cancer cells, the activity of nuclear protein XPO1 often increases abnormally, leading to insufficient accumulation of some key proteins in the nucleus, thus affecting normal cell regulation. By intervening in this process, selinesol is expected to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and provide new hope for the treatment of diseases such as multiple myeloma.
Seleniso is already on the market in China and has been included in medical insurance, but its price is quite expensive, about 10,000 to 20,000 yuan, making patients bear higher treatment costs. It is recommended to consult the local hospital pharmacy for specific prices and medical insurance reimbursement status. Different from the domestic market, Seleniso has two options: original drug and generic drug in the foreign market. The original drug is the American version of the original drug. Because of its higher research and development costs, the price is even more expensive, even as high as hundreds of thousands of yuan. In comparison, generic drugs are more affordable. Lao generic drugs are one of the relatively low-priced generic drugs, with prices ranging from 2,000 yuan to 4,000 yuan. Compared with original drugs, they are more affordable. The ingredients of original drugs and generic drugs are basically the same.
