How much does Seleniso sell for in China?
Selinexor (Selinexor) is an oral anticancer drug that belongs to a class of drugs called selective nucleocytoplasmic transport inhibitors (Selective Inhibitors of Nuclear Export, SINE). It was developed by Karyopharm Therapeutics and was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2019 for the treatment of multiple myeloma (MM) and some specific types of lymphoma.
Seleniso is already on the market in China and has been included in medical insurance, but its price is quite expensive, about 10,000 to 20,000 yuan, making patients bear higher treatment costs. It is recommended to consult the local hospital pharmacy for specific prices and medical insurance reimbursement status. Different from the domestic market, Seleniso has two options: original drug and generic drug in the foreign market. The original drug is the American version of the original drug. Because of its higher research and development costs, the price is even more expensive, even as high as hundreds of thousands of yuan.

In comparison, generic drugs are more affordable. Lao generic drugs are one of the relatively low-priced generic drugs, with prices ranging from 2,000 yuan to 4,000 yuan. Compared with original drugs, they are more affordable. The ingredients of original drugs and generic drugs are basically the same.
Selinesol is unique in that it acts on the nucleocytoplasmic transport protein XPO1 (Exportin 1), a key factor in the cell that regulates protein transport between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. In cancer cells, overexpression and abnormal activity of XPO1 may lead to a series of abnormalities, including inhibiting tumor suppressor genes and enhancing the expression of tumor promoting genes. Therefore, by inhibiting XPO1, selinesol can adjust the nucleocytoplasmic distribution of intracellular proteins and affect the localization of key proteins, thereby interfering with the proliferation and survival of cancer cells.
In clinical studies, selinesol has shown some efficacy in multiple myeloma and has shown potential therapeutic effects in some patients with lymphoma. Due to its unique pharmacological mechanism, selinesol is also being studied for the treatment of several other cancer types.
