Pemetinib/Pemetinib: Exploring whether an Indian version exists
Pemigatinib/Pemigatinib is a class of anti-cancer drugs with high hopes, which has attracted widespread attention in the medical community for its unique efficacy. However, an important question for many patients seeking more affordable treatment options is: Is there an Indian version of pemetinib? After in-depth research, we have not found any Indian original drug or generic version of pemetinib. On the market, what we can find is the original drug launched by Incyte Company in the United States, and the overseas generic version of Lucius Pharmaceuticals in Laos. Although the ingredients of these drugs are basically the same, there may be significant differences in price, quality, packaging and even sales channels.

Pemetinib is the first prescription drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), specifically for adult patients with cholangiocarcinoma that has spread or cannot be surgically removed. For these patients, the emergence of pemetinib undoubtedly brings new hope. But only if their cancer has some type of abnormal FGFR2 gene and have received other treatments. Before using pemetinib, medical staff will conduct genetic testing of a patient's cancer to ensure the drug's suitability. However, the safety and effectiveness of pemetinib in pediatric patients is currently unclear.
Although pemetinib is effective, its high price prohibits many patients. in the country, the price of original drugs may be as high as tens of thousands of yuan, and they are not yet covered by medical insurance. Overseas, prices can be even higher. In contrast, the prices of generic drugs are relatively affordable, but are still affected by exchange rate fluctuations.
