Pemetinib/pemetinib usage and dosage
Follow all directions on the prescription label for pemigatinib/Pemigatinib (Pemigatinib) prescription label, and read all medication guides or inserts. Take medication exactly as directed. The treatment cycle of pemetinib is 21 days, and the drug can only be taken during the first 2 weeks of each cycle. The doctor will decide how long to treat the patient with this medicine. Patients should take pemetinib at approximately the same time each day, swallowing the tablet whole with or without food. Do not crush, chew, split or dissolve tablets. Pemetinib tablets should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
For patients with cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), the recommended dose of pemetinib is 13.5 mg orally once daily for 14 days, followed by 7 days off treatment in a 21-day cycle; for patients with FGFR1-rearranged myeloid/lymphoid neoplasms, the recommended dose is 13.5 mg orally once daily, with continued treatment until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity. If the patient misses a dose of pemetinib by 4 hours or more or experiences vomiting, continue with the next scheduled dose.

Pemetinib may cause eye problems. An ophthalmologist will need to examine the eyes before a patient starts taking this drug and every 2 to 3 months while taking the drug. Follow any instructions about using artificial tears or lubricating eye gel to treat or prevent dry eye syndrome. Pemetinib can cause high levels of phosphate in the blood. Depending on the results, cancer treatment may be delayed. Patients may be given other medications to help lower phosphates. Patients may also need to follow a special diet. Follow all instructions from your doctor or nutritionist. Learn what foods to eat or avoid to help control your phosphate levels.
