Anti-cancer information: Dosage of sotoraxib (AMG510) and a brief understanding of its usage

Sotoracib (AMG510) is used to treat a certain type of lung cancer (NSCLC) that has spread to other parts of the body or cannot be removed by surgery in adults who have had at least one other treatment. Sotoraxib is a drug called a KRAS inhibitor, which stops cancer cells from multiplying by blocking the action of abnormal proteins. This helps stop or slow the spread of cancer cells.

A patient's cancer should be tested to confirm that it has a genetic change that affects KRAS (KRAS G12C) before starting treatment. Sotorracib is an oral tablet that is usually taken once daily. The recommended dose is 960 mg. It can be taken with or without food. Patients should take sotoraxib at approximately the same time each day and do not take more or less or more often than prescribed by their doctor. Do not cut, chew or crush them. If you vomit after taking this dose, do not take another dose and continue your regular dosing schedule the next day.

If the patient is unable to swallow the sotorazeb tablet whole, place the tablet in a glass4 ounces (120 ml) of room temperature non-carbonated water. Do not use any other liquid except water. Stir until the tablets break into small tablets. Do not crush the tablets; they will not dissolve completely. Drink the mixture immediately or within 2 hours of preparation. Do not chew tablets. Rinse the glass with an additional 4 ounces (120 ml) of water and drink to ensure the patient has received the full dose. If you are not drinking the mixture right away, stir the mixture again before drinking.

Doctors may temporarily or permanently stop treatment or adjust the dose of sotoraxib based on the patient's response to treatment and any side effects experienced while taking the drug. Continue taking sotorasiib even if you feel well. Do not stop taking sotorasiib without talking to your doctor.
