Medication Guide and Dosage Analysis for Sotorasib (AMG510)
Sotorasiib (AMG510) is a targeted therapy for a certain type of lung cancer (NSCLC), especially in adult patients whose cancer has spread and who have undergone at least one round of additional treatment. As a KRAS inhibitor, sotoraxib inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by inhibiting the activity of abnormal proteins, thereby effectively preventing or slowing down the progression of the disease.
Before starting treatment with sotoraxib, patients must undergo genetic testing to confirm the presence of the specific gene variant KRAS G12C in their lung cancer cells. Sotorasiib is available as an oral tablet with a standard daily dose of 960 mg, which is independent of meals and can be taken on an empty stomach or with food. To ensure a stable concentration of the drug in the body, patients should try to take the drug at the same time every day, and strictly follow the doctor's instructions to avoid overdose or deficiency.

For patients who have difficulty swallowing the whole tablet, Sotorasibu provides a special way of taking it: place the tablets in120 ml of room temperature non-carbonated water (note that other liquids are not allowed), and stir gently until the tablets are dispersed into small particles. It is important not to crush the tablets as they will not completely dissolve in water. Patients should drink this mixture immediately or within 2 hours and make sure not to chew the tablets. Rinse the container with an additional 120 ml of water and drink to ensure complete intake of the medication. If the mixture has been sitting for a while before drinking, stir it again to ensure that the tablet particles are evenly distributed.
During the treatment process, doctors will flexibly adjust the dose of sotorasibu or decide whether to suspend treatment based on the patient's treatment response and possible side effects. Even if patients feel well, they should not stop taking sotorasiib on their own, and any medication adjustments should be made under the guidance of a doctor.
