Where can I buy Apelis in China?

Alpelisib (Alpelisib) is used to treat a variety of breast cancers in men and postmenopausal women. Apelvis is a targeted therapy drug from a class of drugs called PI3K inhibitors (phosphoinositide 3-kinase inhibitors), sometimes called kinase inhibitors. Apelvis is used only in tumors with PIK3CA mutations detected by a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved test. Apelvis became an FDA-approved drug in 2019 and is the first PI3K inhibitor for specific breast cancers.

Metastatic breast cancer is when the breast cancer has spread beyond the breast to other organs in the body (most commonly the bones, lungs, liver, or brain). When breast cancer is hormone receptor positive, patients may receive antihormone therapy (also called endocrine therapy) or chemotherapy alone or in combination with other drugs. Apelvis is only used in this type of breast cancer if the patient has tried hormone therapy and the cancer continues to progress. The active drug in alpelisib is alpelisib. It comes in tablet form that patients can swallow. They are available in three strengths: 50 mg, 150 mg and 200 mg. For the treatment of breast cancer, the recommended dose of alpelisib is 300 mg (two 150 mg tablets) taken once a day with food.

The original drug of Apelis is not on the market in China, so domestic patients cannot yet purchase this drug through relevant domestic channels, such as hospital pharmacies and other places. Currently, the original version of Apelvis is available overseas, including the European version and the Indian version; generic versions of Apelvis are also sold overseas, and their pharmaceutical ingredients are basically the same as those of the original drug.
