How to take ibrutinib/ibrutinib

Ibrutinib/Ibrutinib is an oral anti-cancer drug mainly used to treat certain types of cancer, such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia. To ensure the effectiveness and safety of medications, correct administration is crucial. Ibrutinib is usually provided in capsule form, with each capsule containing a specific dose of the drug. Patients should read the drug instructions carefully before taking it and strictly follow the instructions of their doctor or medical professional. Based on the condition and individual differences, the doctor will develop a suitable medication plan for the patient.

For the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)/small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) and Wadenström macroglobulinemia (WM), the recommended dose of ibrutinib is 420 mg orally once daily until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity. For patients 12 years of age and older with chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD), the recommended dose is 420 mg orally once daily, and for patients 1 to 12 years of age with cGVHD, the recommended dose is 240 mg/m2 orally once daily (maximum dose 420 mg) until progression of cGVHD, recurrence of underlying malignancy, or unacceptable toxicity. When a patient no longer requires treatment for cGVHD, discontinuation should be based on the patient's individual medical assessment.

For CLL/SLL, it can be given as a single agent in combination with rituximab or obinutuzumab, or in combination with bendamustine and rituximab (BR). For WM, it can be used as a single agent or in combination with rituximab. Patients should take ibrutinib at approximately the same time each day; swallow the tablet or capsule with a glass of water. Do not open, break or chew capsules. If a dose of ibrutinib is not taken at the scheduled time, it can be taken as soon as possible that day and resume the normal schedule the next day. Do not take extra doses to make up for a missed dose.
