What disease does Apremilast treat?

Apremilast is a drug used to treat psoriasis (psoriasis) and psoriatic arthritis (psoriatic arthritis). Both diseases are autoimmune disorders that often cause inflammation of the skin and joints.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with typical symptoms including red spots, scales, itching and burning on the skin surface. As a result, Apremilast can reduce symptoms in people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, including reduction in skin lesions and remission of arthritis.
