How long do you usually take acalatinib/acalabrutinib?
Acalabrutinib/ Acalabrutinib is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) who have received at least one previous cancer treatment; or adults with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL). It's unclear whether acotinib is safe and effective in children. The use regimen and treatment period of acotinib need to be determined based on individual circumstances and physician recommendations. Generally speaking, the treatment period of acotinib will vary according to factors such as the patient's disease type, severity of illness, and treatment effect.

For patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and small lymphocytic lymphoma, acotinib usually needs to be continued. Early in treatment, patients may need to take daily medications until the disease is under control. Acotinib begins to work by blocking Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) shortly after dosing and remains effective throughout the 12-hour dosing period. BTK is a protein found in B cells that helps certain blood cancer cells grow and survive. Doctors may also adjust the medication regimen to reduce the frequency of medication, but continued medication is still required to maintain a stable state of the disease.
The time and regimen of taking acotinib should be determined based on individual circumstances and physician recommendations. But like other drugs, the most common side effects of acotinib are infection, headache, diarrhea, bruising, muscle pain, nausea, fatigue, cough and rash. If the patient experiences intolerable side effects during medication, he or she should inform the doctor in time and adjust the medication under the guidance of the doctor.
