What are the indications for ivonib (ivitinib)?
Ivonib (ivitinib) is an innovative targeted inhibitor, mainly targeting cancers with isocitrate dehydrogenase-1 (IDH1) mutations. This drug has been approved for marketing in China, providing a new treatment option for cancer patients. The following are the main indications for ivonib:
1.Relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (R/R AML): Ivonib was initially approved to treat adult patients with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia who carry IDH1 susceptibility mutations. This is a hematological malignancy. Ivonib can prevent the growth and spread of cancer cells by inhibiting the mutated IDH1 enzyme, thereby prolonging the survival of patients.

2.Newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia: In addition to relapsed or refractory cases, avosidenib can also be used in combination with azacitidine for the treatment of newly diagnosed patients with acute myeloid leukemia who have IDH1 mutations. These patients are typically detected by an FDA-approved test in adults 75 years of age or older or who have comorbidities that preclude the use of intensive induction chemotherapy.
3.Locally advanced or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma: In addition, ivosidenib is also approved for the treatment of adult patients with previously treated locally advanced or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma who carry an IDH1 mutation detected by an FDA approved test. Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare cancer, and ivonib provides new treatment opportunities for these patients.
As an oral, potent targeted inhibitor, ivonib's safety and efficacy have been verified in multiple clinical trials. It achieves the purpose of treating diseases by inhibiting the growth of tumor cells. However, patients should consult a professional doctor before use, choose an appropriate treatment plan according to their own situation, and pay close attention to possible side effects of the drug.
