What drugs does dasatinib interact with?
Dasatinib (Dasatinib) is an oral drug used to treat certain types of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). This is atargeted anti-cancer treatment. Dasatinib is one of the recommended options for adults with CML and ALL and is very convenient to take once a day.
Dasatinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. A kinase is an enzyme that promotes cell growth. There are many types of kinases that control different stages of cell growth. By blocking specific enzymes from working, this drug slows the growth of cancer cells.
Sometimes it is not safe to use certain medicines together. Some medicines can affect the blood levels of other medicines you take, which may increase side effects or make the medicine less effective. Dasatinib may increase your risk of serious or fatal bleeding, especially if you also use blood thinners or any medicines that prevent blood clots. Many drugs can interact with dasatinib, and some drugs should not be used together. Tell your doctor about all the medicines you currently use and any medicines you start or stop using. This includes prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Not all possible interactions are listed here.
The effectiveness of dasatinib may be affected by the concomitant administration of other drugs:
Dasatinib is metabolized by the liver enzymeCYP3A4. Drugs that inhibit this enzyme (including, but not limited to, ketoconazole, itraconazole, erythromycin, clarithromycin, ritonavir, atazanavir, indinavir, nefazodone, nelfinavir, saquinavir, telithromycin) may affect the pharmacokinetics of dasatinib and increase acute drug exposure. Taking these drugs together should be avoided.
Drugs that induce increased expression of CYP3A4 (including, but not limited to, dexamethasone, phenytoin, carbamazepine, rifampin, and phenobarbital) may decrease dasatinib levels. Alternative therapy and/or dose adjustment of dasatinib is recommended.
St. John's Wort has been shown to decrease dasatinib plasma levels unpredictably and should be avoided during dasatinib therapy.
The solubility of dasatinib dependsPh. Therefore, the use of antacids within two hours before or after dasatinib administration is not recommended. Long-term acid reducing agents such as H2 blockers or proton pump inhibitors (including but not limited to famotidine or omeprazole) are not recommended when using dasatinib.
Therefore, when using dasatinib, you should carefully consider using other drugs at the same time, or adjust the dosage or change drugs under the guidance of a doctor to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the drug. Always consult a professional doctor or pharmacist when using dasatinib or other drugs.
