The correct way to take tenofovir alafenamide tablets/Veride
Tenofovir alafenamide fumarate tablets/Veride (TAF) is a drug used to treat hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Before starting this medication, patients need to be tested for HIV-1 infection and have their serum creatinine, estimated creatinine clearance, urine glucose, and urine protein evaluated. In patients with chronic kidney disease, serum phosphorus levels also need to be assessed. It should be noted that patients with HIV-1 infection should not use tenofovir alafenamide tablets alone.

Tenofovir alafenamide fumarate is available as an oral tablet. The recommended dose for adult and pediatric patients 6 years of age and older and weighing at least 25 kg is one 25 milligram (mg) tablet to be taken orally once daily with food. No dose adjustment is required in patients with estimated creatinine clearance ≥15 mL/min, or in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). If hemodialysis is required, tenofovir alafenamide fumarate tablets can only be taken after hemodialysis is completed. This drug is not recommended for patients with ESRD who are not receiving chronic hemodialysis. For patients with mild hepatic impairment, no dose adjustment is required. However, for patients with decompensated liver function impairment, the use of tenofovir alafenamide fumarate tablets is not recommended.
This drug has shown good results in treating hepatitis B virus infection. However, during use, patients need to strictly follow the doctor's instructions and adhere to the correct way of taking the medicine as described in the drug instructions. During the medication period, patients need to regularly review relevant indicators in order to adjust the dosage or monitor the efficacy of the medication in a timely manner. If any discomfort or questions occur during medication, patients should consult their doctor in time.
