Anamorelin latest instruction manual
Indications:
Indicated in the treatment of anorexia(loss of appetite), cachexia(a muscle wasting associated with significant weight loss)or unintended weight loss in patients with a type of lung cancer called non-small cell lung cancer.
Mechanism of action:
Anamulin can act on the appetite regulation center in the nervous system, increasing appetite and making patients more willing to eat. It mainly interacts with the hypothalamus and the hypothalamus-gastric prolactin nerve pathway to stimulate the release of gastrolactin, thereby increasing hunger and promoting appetite. The drug can activate the lymphoprotein kinasemTOR signaling pathway in skeletal muscle, thereby promoting protein synthesis and helping to improve patients' muscle quality and function. Anamorelin can also regulate the body's metabolism and energy balance, improve food absorption and utilization, reduce fat oxidation and decomposition, and help patients gain weight.
Medication method:
Anamorelin is usually available as an oral tablet. The usual dosage for adults is 1 times a day, 2 capsules each time (100mg). The medicine should be swallowed whole and should not be chewed or crushed. It is recommended to take it on an empty stomach in the morning. You should wait 1 hour after taking the medicine before eating to ensure full absorption of the medicine. Physicians may adjust the dose based on the patient's individual response and tolerance, but the maximum dose should not exceed 100 mg twice daily.

Side effects:
1.Gastrointestinal reactions: Patients may experience gastrointestinal discomfort symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and pseudomembranous colitis. These reactions are usually mild and resolve after the drug is discontinued.
2.Allergic reactions: Some patients may have allergic reactions to certain ingredients in anamorelin, such as rash, drug fever and asthma. Severe allergic reactions such as anaphylactic shock are rare, but still require caution. If a severe allergic reaction occurs, stop taking the medicine immediately and seek medical advice.
3. Effects on liver and kidney function: Long-term use of anamulin may have certain effects on liver and kidney function, such as a slight increase in serum aminotransferase levels and occasional nephritis. Therefore, patients taking long-term medication should have their liver and kidney function checked regularly.
4. Central nervous system reactions: A small number of patients may experience central nervous system adverse reactions, such as excitement, anxiety, insomnia, dizziness, and abnormal behavior.
5. Other side effects include hematological symptoms such as anemia, thrombocytopenia, and leukopenia, as well as secondary infections caused by Candida or drug-resistant bacteria.
Warnings and precautions:
1.Allergic reaction: Contraindicated in patients allergic to anamulin or its components. Patients should be asked about their allergic history before use. Once allergic reactions occur, the drug should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment measures should be taken.
2.Electrocardiogram monitoring: Since anamorelin may have effects on the heart, such as stimulating conduction system inhibition, electrocardiogram abnormalities, etc., electrocardiogram monitoring should be performed regularly during use.
3. Liver function monitoring: Patients taking anamorelin for a long time should have their liver function checked regularly to ensure that the drug does not have adverse effects on the liver.
Drug interactions:
Patients taking clarithromycin, innavir and other drugs should not use anamorelin due to possible drug interactions.
Medication for special populations:
It is contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women, patients with congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, and atrioventricular block, as anamorelin may worsen these symptoms. At the same time, patients with moderate or above liver dysfunction should also avoid using it.
