Does cabozantinib have an effect on phosphorus cancer?

The effect of cabozantinib on phosphocarcinomas (i.e., squamous cell carcinomas) is a high-profile and complex issue.

Cabozantinib is a multi-target small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the growth and spread of tumors by inhibiting the activity of multiple tyrosine kinases and interfering with the signal transduction of tumor cells. These kinases play important roles in the growth, proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis of tumor cells. Cabozantinib can act on multiple targets at the same time, including MET, VEGFR, AXL, etc., which makes it potentially therapeutic for many types of cancer.

Although research data directly targeting phosphocarcinoma (squamous cell carcinoma) is relatively limited, the research results of cabozantinib in similar conditions, such as head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), provide us with a certain reference. According to publicly available information, cabozantinib has shown significant efficacy in the treatment of recurrent metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma when used in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors such as pembrolizumab. For example, in one study, the overall clinical efficiency of patients treated with cabozantinib combined with pembrolizumab was as high as 91%, and the median overall survival was 22.3 months.

In addition to clinical research, preclinical research also provides a certain scientific basis for the application of cabozantinib in the treatment of phosphorus cancer. These studies show that cabozantinib can have inhibitory effects on a variety of cancer cells, including squamous cell carcinoma. Based on the multi-target inhibitory properties of cabozantinib and its performance in similar diseases, we can reasonably speculate that cabozantinib may also have a certain therapeutic effect on phosphorus cancer.
