Introduction to precautions for ivonib (ivitinib)
Ivosidenib is used to treat a certain type of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that has come back or not improved after previous treatment. Avosidenib may also be used alone or in combination with azacitidine (Onureg) as first treatment to treat a certain type of AML in some adults over 75 years of age. Avosidenib is also used in adults who have received previous treatment to treat a certain type of cholangiocarcinoma that has spread to nearby tissue or other parts of the body.
Ivonib is also used to treat certain types of myelodysplastic syndrome in adult patients who have not responded to other treatments or have relapsed. Ivonib belongs to a class of drugs called IDH1 inhibitors. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells.

Ivosidenib may cause a group of serious or life-threatening symptoms called differentiation syndrome. Your doctor will monitor you carefully to see if you have this syndrome. Contact your doctor right away if you develop any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, rash, sudden weight gain, decreased urination, swelling of arms or legs, dizziness or lightheadedness, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. These symptoms may occur up to 3 months after starting treatment with ivosidenib. When you develop the first signs of differentiation syndrome, your doctor will prescribe medications to treat the syndrome and may tell you to stop taking Ivone for a while.
When using ivosidenib, you should inform your doctor about other drugs you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, health products, etc., because some drugs may interact with ivosidenib. Patients should consult their doctor in detail before taking medication to understand the drug's indications, usage and dosage, adverse reactions and other information, and use the medication strictly in accordance with the doctor's instructions.
