Is platinib included in medical insurance and how much does it cost?
Platinib is a drug used to treat adults with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has spread to other parts of the body, driven by metastatic RET. In addition, it may be used to treat certain types of thyroid cancer, including in adults and children 12 years and older, that are getting worse or have spread to other parts of the body.
Platinib exerts its anti-tumor effect by specifically inhibiting the RET tyrosine kinase that is rearranged during transfection. It can selectively inhibit the activity of RET kinase, which is a key cell signaling pathway and plays an important role in the proliferation, survival and differentiation of tumor cells. By blocking this signaling pathway, platinib can effectively inhibit the proliferation of cells expressing RET gene mutations, thereby controlling tumor progression.

Platinib can also inhibit the activation of angiogenic signaling pathways such as vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR), thereby reducing tumor blood vessel formation and blood supply. This effect slows down the growth of tumors and helps shrink or stabilize tumors.
It should be noted that platinib is not yet included in the scope of medical insurance reimbursement. In the domestic market, its latest price is about more than 20,000 yuan to 60,000 yuan. At the same time, there are two original developed versions on the overseas market, namely the American version and the European version. It is understood that the latest price of the American version of platinib is about 16 yuan, while the European version is about 4.5 yuan. In addition, the Ministry of Health of Laos has approved the listing of a generic drug Platinib. Its pharmaceutical ingredients are basically the same as the original drug. The latest price is about four to five thousand yuan.
