Clinical effects of semaglutide tablets
Semaglutide (Rybelsus) is a medicine used to control blood glucose (sugar) levels in adults with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes. It can be used alone or in combination with other diabetes medications when metformin (another diabetes medication) is not available. It should be used along with proper diet and physical exercise.
Semaglutide tablets were effective in controlling blood sugar levels in seven major studies involving a total of more than 5,500 people with type 2 diabetes.

Depending on the dose, semaglutide tablets may reduce HbA1c by 0.6 to 1.4 percentage points (showing improved glycemic control) The results compared better with those for three other diabetes treatments: empagliflozin, sitagliptin or liraglutide, which were 0.9, 0.8 and 0.9 percentage points lower, respectively. Semaglutide tablets were also more effective than placebo (a dummy treatment).
In addition to better blood sugar control, patients taking semaglutide also experienced beneficial weight loss after 6 months. Further research in nearly 3,200 patients showed that semaglutide tablets may reduce the number of heart attacks and strokes compared with placebo, but the difference was not statistically significant (and could be due to chance).
It should be noted that although semaglutide has shown significant clinical effects in many aspects, patients should use the drug under the guidance of a doctor to avoid serious adverse drug reactions, such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, etc. At the same time, due to individual differences, the effects of semaglutide may vary in different patients.
In general, semaglutide, as a multifunctional drug, has shown good clinical effects in hypoglycemic, cardiovascular protection and blood lipid regulation.
