How to take ixazomib
Ixazomib (trade name: Ninlaro), as an oral anti-tumor drug for the treatment of multiple myeloma, must be taken in strict compliance with medical instructions to ensure the efficacy of the drug and the safety of the patient.
The recommended starting dose of ixazomib is 4 mg on day 128 treatment cycle >, 8 and 15 days are administered orally, i.e., 4 mg once a week. For patients requiring long-term treatment, the dose should be titrated based on individual benefit-risk assessment. If it is necessary to reduce the dose, the dose should be reduced to 3mg for the first time and to 2.3mg for the second time until the drug is stopped.

Ixazomib should be taken at least 1 hour before a meal or at least 2 hours after a meal. The daily medication time should be roughly fixed to ensure that the drug maintains a stable concentration in the body. Take the entire capsule with water. Do not crush, chew or open the capsule to avoid premature release of the drug or affecting its efficacy.
Treatment with ixazomib should be initiated under the supervision of a physician experienced in the treatment of multiple myeloma, with ongoing monitoring of the course of treatment. If the patient vomits after taking the medication, he should not take the medication again, but should resume administration at the next scheduled dose. In the case of missed doses, the missed dose can only be taken when the next scheduled dose is ≥72 hours.
Patients over the age of 65 do not need to adjust the dose; patients with mild hepatic impairment also do not need to adjust the dose, but patients with moderate to severe hepatic impairment should reduce the dose to 3mg; patients with mild or moderate renal impairment do not need to adjust the dose, but patients with severe renal impairment or end-stage renal disease requiring dialysis should also reduce the dose to 3mg.
Ixazomib is often used in combination with lenalidomide and dexamethasone, and this combination treatment regimen has shown good efficacy and safety in multiple clinical trials. However, when using drugs in combination, you need to pay attention to the interactions between the drugs and dosage adjustments. For details, please refer to the instructions for each drug or use it under the guidance of a doctor.
