Valganciclovir Turkish version price

The Turkish version of Valganciclovir belongs to the category of original drugs and contains valganciclovir HCl, which is the hydrochloride of L-valyl ester of ganciclovir and exists as a mixture of two diastereoisomers. Ganciclovir is a synthetic guanine derivative active against Cytomegalovirus (CMV). The common specifications of the Turkish version are 450mg*60 tablets, and the price per box may be more than 3,000 yuan (the price may fluctuate due to the exchange rate).

In adult patients, valganciclovir is usually used to treat CMV retinitis (an eye infection that may cause blindness) in people with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS); it is also used to prevent CMV disease in people who have received a heart, kidney, or kidney-pancreas transplant and who are at risk for CMV disease. In pediatric patients, valganciclovir is used to prevent cytomegalovirus disease in high-risk renal transplant (4 months to 16 years) and heart transplant (1 month to 16 years) patients.

In general, valganciclovir works by preventingthe spread of CMV disease or slowing the growth of CMV through activation of the viral protein kinase HCMV UL97 and subsequent phosphorylation by cellular kinases. Phosphotransferase also activates valganciclovir. Oral bioavailability is approximately 60%. Fatty foods significantly increase bioavailability and peak levels in serum, with it taking approximately 2 hours to reach maximum concentration in serum.

In addition to the Turkish version of valganciclovir's original drug, there are also other versions on the market, such as the Indian version and the Swiss imported version. The original drug is also sold in China, and the approximate price may be around RMB 10,000. There are currently no generic versions available.
