Comparative analysis between avatrombopag and thrombopoietin
Avatrombopag acts as a small molecule TPO receptor agonist, which mimics endogenous TPO to stimulate the growth and development of megakaryocytes and megakaryocyte progenitor cells in the bone marrow, thereby increasing platelet production. Its TPO receptor binding site is different from endogenous TPO and binds to the transmembrane region of TPO receptor.
