Dasatinib Adverse Reactions and Contraindications Guide
As a drug for the treatment of chronic myelogenous leukemia, dasatinib has significant efficacy, but it also has some adverse reactions. According to publicly released information, the most common adverse reactions of dasatinib mainly include:
1.Fluid retention: Pleural effusion is the most common manifestation of fluid retention, and about6% of patients will experience this symptom. Additionally, weight gain and edema may result.
2.Gastrointestinal reactions: including diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, among which the incidence of diarrhea is relatively high.
3.Bleeding events: Some patients may experience gastrointestinal bleeding or abnormal bleeding in other locations.
4.Myelosuppression: Dasatinib may cause thrombocytopenia, neutropenia and anemia, of which the incidence of febrile neutropenia is approximately 7%.
5.Other reactions: such as difficulty breathing, headache, rash and liver function damage, etc.
It should be noted that the incidence of these adverse reactions will vary between individuals.
Because dasatinib may cause harm to the fetus, it should not be used by pregnant women. If you come into contact with a broken tablet, wash the area immediately with soap and water. Dasatinib should be used with caution in patients who are allergic to any component of this product, patients with impaired liver function, patients who may experience QTc prolongation, and patients who need to inhibit platelet function or use anticoagulants. Due to lack of safety and efficacy data, dasatinib is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under the age of 18. Although no specific age-related adverse reactions have been observed in elderly patients, close observation is still required, especially adverse reactions such as fluid retention and dyspnea.
