What is the domestic price of the targeted drug capmatinib, the price of 60 domestically produced pills?

Capmatinib (Capmatinib) is an oral small molecule mesenchymal-epithelial transition (MET) inhibitor. Capmatinib targets and selectively binds to MET, including mutant variants produced by exon 14 skipping, and inhibits the growth of cancer cells driven by mutant MET variants. In May 2020, oral capmatinib received its first global approval in the United States for the treatment of adults with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumors have a mutation that causes MET exon 14 skipping, according to a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved test.

The original drug capmatinib has been approved by the State Food and Drug Administration and has been launched in China. However, due to the short time on the market, its price is not yet available. Currently, we are not aware of any domestic drug capmatinib being marketed for sale. There may be drugs under development, so we cannot know the price of domestic60 tablets.

A Phase Ib/II study evaluated the combination of capmatinib and gefitinib in patients with metastatic mutations who had progressed on the first generation. The overall response rate was 27%, but this rate increased to 47% in patients with MET gene copy number ≥6. The combination appeared to be well tolerated, with no apparent interactions between the two drugs, and the main treatment-related adverse events were nausea and edema.

In the Hong Kong market,the original capmatinib in 200 mg 60 specifications sells for more than 30,000 yuan per box. In overseas markets, the price of each box of the European version of the original drug in 200 mg and 120 mg specifications is as high as more than 50,000 yuan. The price is obviously expensive, although it may be affected by exchange rate fluctuations. However, there are also cheaper generic capmatinib drugs for sale in overseas markets. Their ingredients are basically the same as the original drug. For example, a 200mg*56 tablet drug produced by a pharmaceutical factory in Laos costs about more than 3,000 yuan. Of course, this price may also be affected by the exchange rate.
